How to find the board feet of lumber in a log?
In order to put a value on a log, you need to estimate the board foot yield after it has been milled.
The most common method used is the Scribner Log Volume Table (see below), Other
methods include the Doyle and International scale or tables.
To estimate the board feet from a log, measure the average diameter of the small end of the log in inches, not including the bark. Then, measure the length of the log in feet.
